Servicing
Swimming Pool, Spa, Sauna & Steam Room Servicing and Maintenance
At Smart Pools we specialise in servicing and maintenance.
What We Service
We provide servicing and maintenance for:
- Swimming pools – domestic and commercial
- Spas and hot tubs
- Saunas
- Steam rooms
- Plant rooms and associated pipework
If you have a combination (for example, pool + spa + sauna), we’ll design a plan that covers the whole system.
Domestic Servicing
For domestic pools, spas, saunas and steam rooms, every property is different. We tailor our service to how you actually use your facilities.
Typical domestic visit frequencies
Depending on your setup and budget, we can offer:
- Monthly visits
- Every 2–3 months
- Twice a year (every 6 months)
- Annual visits
Many domestic clients also:
- Close their pool over winter – we can include proper shutdown and spring startup in your plan
- Have seasonal usage – we adjust visits accordingly so you’re not paying for unnecessary checks when the pool is closed
What’s included in a typical domestic service visit
- Water quality testing and chemical balance checks
- Visual inspection of pool/spa surfaces and surrounds
- Inspection of pipework, pumps, filters and plant room equipment
- Basic cleaning/maintenance tasks as agreed
- Identification of any repairs or improvements needed and advice on next steps
All domestic contracts are usually agreed on a 12‑month basis, with the flexibility to modify visit frequency if your usage pattern changes.
Commercial Servicing
We work with commercial sites such as:
- Hotels and leisure clubs
- Health and spa facilities
- Commercial gyms
- Schools and other organisations
These sites often have more complex systems and heavier usage, so we build a bespoke service schedule around:
- Type of facility (pool, spa, sauna, steam room or combination)
- Hours of operation and bather load
- Compliance requirements and internal procedures
- Budget available from the site owners/directors
Typical commercial visit frequencies
Depending on your requirements, contracts can include:
- Monthly visits
- Quarterly visits (every 3 months)
- Every 6 months
- Annual deep inspections
Some commercial clients combine:
- Regular routine visits (e.g. monthly)
- Ad‑hoc callouts for breakdowns or urgent repairs
- Planned refurbishments which then roll into long‑term servicing
What’s included in a typical commercial service visit
- Full check of plant room and pipework
- Inspection and testing of pumps, filters, control systems and safety equipment
- Water quality checks and advice on maintaining standards between visits
- Review of any issues since the last visit and recommendations for repairs or upgrades
- Confirmation/adjustment of visit schedule if usage or requirements have changed
Most commercial agreements are 12‑month contracts with clearly defined visit schedules, but we remain flexible as your needs evolve.
Refurbishments and Long‑Term Contracts
Refurbishment work is an important part of what we do:
- Refurb jobs often naturally lead to ongoing service contracts, as we already know the system inside out.
- This gives you continuity – the same team that refurbished the pool or plant room is also responsible for keeping it in top condition.
Because every site is different, no two contracts are identical. We design each one around your:
- Facility type
- Usage pattern and seasonal closures
- Budget
- Any specific technical or compliance requirements
Why We Focus on Servicing and Maintenance
Constantly rising material prices mean many new build pools are no longer profitable for either contractors or clients.
The real value is in making sure your existing pool, spa, sauna or steam room runs reliably and safely for years.
Regular servicing reduces the risk of costly breakdowns, extends equipment life and keeps water quality where it should be.
Get a Tailored Service Plan
Because every site is unique, the best way to get started is to tell us a bit about your setup:
- Is it domestic or commercial?
- Do you have a pool, spa, sauna, steam room, or a combination?
- How often is it used, and do you close it over winter or other periods?
- Do you already have a service routine, or are you starting from scratch?
We’ll then:
- Recommend a service frequency and scope of work that fits your technical needs and budget.
- Set this out in a clear 12‑month contract with agreed visit dates.
- Review and adjust the plan over time as your requirements change.
